What is Namaste?

All our yoga styles are named after gods, goddesses or yoga terms. Namasté is one of those words that even non-yogis are familiar with. A yoga class almost always ends with this greeting, with which the teacher thanks his or her students for their participation. Literally translated from Sanskrit, namasté means “I bow to you.” Usually, the greeting is accompanied by a mudra, a hand gesture in which the palms of the hands are pressed together in front of the chest. With a slight bow of the head, people in India and other Asian countries greet their countrymen and the gods they worship in this way. In yoga it is a gesture of respect – basically you are saying ”I bow to the divine in you”. Hence the name: the Namaste yoga top with V-neck is a symbolic bow to your inner goddess!
