What is Namaste?

All of Urban Goddess’ yoga clothing styles are named after different yoga terms. But Namaste is one of those terms that means something to almost everyone. The word goes together with a Mudra (hand gesture) in which the palms of the hands are pressed together in front of the chest. Literally translated from Sanskrit, namasté means “I bow to you”. People in India and other Asian countries greet their fellow countrymen and the Gods they worship in this way. In yoga, this gesture is used as a sign of respect. You are saying, “I bow to the divine in you”. Our Namaste yoga top with V-neck is a bow to yourself as an (Urban) Goddess!
