What is Sukha?

At Urban Goddess we have named all our styles after terms and concepts from the yoga tradition. Sukha means pleasure or softness and has to do with the posture you have during yoga. In yoga, two opposing forces create balance in a pose: sthira and sukha. Each yoga pose should be a combination of effort and ease. Sthira stands for stability and strength and sukha for feeling comfortable, and in every pose, you are meant to approach the pose with both of those qualities. Even if you are upside down in the headstand, you should still be able to smile inside – otherwise you will miss the mark. Finding your own balance and feeling what you need is the essence of yoga. And these three-quarter length yoga pants are a good reminder to always keep your yoga practice fun and gentle, even when the sweat is breaking.
