What is Sukha?

All Urban Goddess yoga wear styles are named after goddesses, gods and concepts from the yoga tradition. Sukha means softness or pleasure. In yoga, two almost opposite forces create balance in a yoga pose: sthira and sukha. Each posture should be a combination of steadiness and ease. Sthira stands for stability and strength and sukha for a comfortable feeling of ease, and in yoga both qualities must be present. Even in a physically challenging asana, you still need to be able to produce an internal smile – otherwise you are taking it too far. Finding your own balance and sensing what you need is what yoga is all about. And these loose-fit yoga pants are a good reminder to always keep a soft and fun approach, even when things get tough.
